SACRED PRIDE opens OCT. 20TH, on view through DEC. 10TH.

Sacred Pride brings together two Atlanta-based queer artists, working across different generations and from different corners of the city's LGBTQ community, in an exhibition featuring Billy Clifton-Strawn and LaSalle. Both work in lens-based media and textile, and both are circling the same questions from opposite directions: what does it mean to claim your own becoming, and what does it mean to build a life, and a community, in public.

Clifton-Strawn's practice moves inward, through family, memory, and generational lineage, toward the steadiness of chosen family, the lion at rest inside its pride. LaSalle's moves outward, into Atlanta's streets and civic spaces, claiming visibility the way a panther claims ground, alone, unbothered, everywhere at once. Sacred Pride holds both instincts as true, the pull toward the group and the pull toward the open, and asks what happens when queer life is honored in both its solitary and its communal forms.

Panthers live free. Lions live in prides. Together, a chosen family emerges. Queer stories woven in cloth, pixel and light.
